Thousands Attend Liberty Party’s Headquarters Opening

The strike against economic degradation in the country that left Monrovia paralyzed yesterday did not stop Liberty Party partisans from turning out in their thousands to see the official opening of their new political party headquarters.They came in trucks and other walked the scorching sun of Monrovia, dancing and chanting the name of their political leader Cllr. Charles Brumskin.
By mid-day, the party headquarters in Congo town was already filled and those who could not enter had to utilize empty spaces in nearby while voice of the man they want to lead the country was piercing the speakers mounted on the podium.
Cllr. Brumskin told his partisans that it was now time that the Unity Party Government get out. You have done what you can, now it’s time you give way to the Liberian people, Brumskin said, amidst cheers political chants.
Top LP officials were on hand to grace the occasion, while Liberian Hip Hop groups entertained the partisans.
There were other opposition politicians in attendance including Nimba County Senator Prince Johnson and Congress for Democratic Change (CDC’s) Samora Wolokolie, but only Prince Johnson was allowed to speak.
And after the speeches, the party’s political leader Cllr. Brumskine mounted on an opened top jeep and was slowly driven on the Tubman Boulevard before reclining.
