Magical Twist In Lebanese Businessman’s Arrest

Couple of weeks ago, the Liberian National Police arrested the general manager of Mamba Point Hotel
for alleged power theft. Police sources say the arrest was made shortly after tipoff. Police moved in and made the arrest. The general manger of the hotel was handcuffed and taken to the Police headquarters. The Police had earlier said that the accused had illegally connected his hotel and home to the facilities of the Electricity Corporation (LEC), thereby defrauding the government of legitimate revenues.
But after interventions made by some officials of the Lebanese Community in Liberia and other top sources in government, the accused man was released, according to Police sources.
Even though LEC management sources insist the Lebanese businessman allegedly illegally connected to LEC’s facilities, Police claimed the man was wrongly arrested.
He was released and that was the end of the story, but investigation continued.
