George Weah Storms Buchanan

The Standard Bearer of the opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), Amb. George Weah, Saturday stormed the port city of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.
Weah’s convoy entered Buchanan city by midday, with thousands of people waiting to receive him at the ‘welcome’ sign. But there were intermittent stops along the road leading to the city. Villagers would block the road to demand the convoy make a stop to have a clamp at the presidential contender. They held palm leaves and sang songs of praises to him.
And before the Montserrado County Senator could reach the outskirt of Buchanan City, thousands of people ran from every quarter in the city, singing “Our Ma lied to Us, Our Pa Na Come”, meaning our mother lied to us but our father has come. The song could be heard echoing all over Buchanan city.
People left their markets in the Buchanan central market, some of them with no shoes, spread their clothing on the main Tubman Street.
But then, the first crowd that welcomed him had demanded the soccer legend walk from the welcome point to the central city.
And as if Jesus was entering Jerusalem, the multitude followed Weah and entourage, with some of them crying and dancing.
It was as if the CDC Standard Bearer was manufacturing human beings in the city, as it was really unbelievable to see the huge crowd that followed came out.
Weah trip to Buchanan followed similar one to Gbarpolu County on Friday. Similarly, according to our correspondent, people came from the villages and towns to see him. Some of them wanted to touch him.
Meanwhile, this paper has been informed that the CDC Standard Bearer is scheduled to visit Tienne, in Grand Cape Mount on Wednesday.
