Failed Protest In Liberia

The controversial Liberian radio talk show host, Henry Costa turned politician, has failed to mobilize Liberians to turn out for his widely publicized protest intended to call for the resignation of the Liberian President.

The Council of Patriots’ (COP’s) ‘George Weah Step Down’ protest was slated to take place Monday, December 30, 2019.

Members of the International Community and other Liberians have called on the organizers to call-off the protest.

But on late Sunday evening, December 29, Henry Costa and his supporters held a press conference announcing that all was in place to carry on the planned protest; according to them, nothing would have stopped supporters from turning out in the streets for the protest.

Despite the defiance posture of Costa and members of the COP, Liberians who were expected to turnout in their numbers to grace the protest shunned the process as they failed to turn out in the streets.

Having realized that they could not generate the much expected number of persons to execute the widely publicized protest, the organizers, including Costa and his supporters made a ‘U-Turn’ and quickly arranged a press conference in which they announced the postponement of the failed protest to next Monday.
