A police manhunt is ongoing in Liberia’s coastal city of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County for the killers of German Businessman George Schedenann. The German was shot dead recently by some unidentified gunmen in the area.
A team of anti-robbery taskforce of the Liberia National Police has been dispatched to the area and has commenced a manhunt for suspects who are said to be eight in number.
ELBC Correspondent quotes the wife of the deceased, Linda as saying her husband left their home to do some work at the office of a company he was operating. She explained that she later heard the sound of gun shots coming from the direction of the company’s fence.
Mrs. Schedenann said upon their arrival at the compound, her husband was met on the ground bleeding profusely from bullet wound.
An eyewitness said to be the transport supervisor of the victim’s company, Okansee Pajibo, told newsmen he saw about eight well-armed men who forced their way into the courtyard of the company’s headquarters, demanding money which they claimed taken to the offices. He added that the robbers entered the offices of the German and later they heard gun shots.
Meanwhile, Grand Bassa County Superintendent, Janjay Barkpeh says the government is doing everything possible to arrest and prosecute perpetrators of the gruesome act.
The superintendent said no stone will be left unturned to apprehend the killers. He however, assured foreign investors and the general public of security protection.
