US Court Founds Jungle Jabbah Guilty

PHILADELPHIA — A Liberian accused of committing gruesome war crimes when he was a rebel commander called Jungle Jabbah was convicted Wednesday of lying about his past so he could enter the U.S. Several people from the West African nation went to Philadelphia to speak of their encounters with Mohammed Jabbateh, 51, leading to his conviction on charges of fraud and perjury for lying on immigration forms and to U.S. officials.

PUL Wants Police Probe Arson Attack On Home of Journalist

The Press Union of Liberia has called on authorities of the Liberia National Police to expeditiously investigate an arson attack on the home of Journalist Smith Toby last Wednesday. Toby’s home was attacked early Wednesday by unknown men on the highway leading to the Roberts International Airport.  

LPRC Boss Resigns

Sumo Kupee, the boss of the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) has resigned, according to credible sources. He’s been replaced by Jackson Doe, Jr, who was the deputy managing director for administration of the LPRC. Executive Mansion sources say, Jackson has been told to hold on until a new head is appointed by President Ellen Johnson.

CBL and Commercial Banks Trade Accusations

Several Commercial Banks in the country have accused the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) of releasing mutilated Liberia Bank Notes on the market. Banks customers who made withdrawals from their respective savings have been given mutilated monies especially in the denomination of Liberia Five Dollars.

Liberty Party Rejects Election Results

-Threatens Court Action The opposition Liberty Party of Cllr. Charles Brumskine has rejected results from recent polls which results are being announced by the National Elections Commission (NEC). The party’s candidate, Charles Brumskine was considered a front runner in the presidential election. Citing irregularities in the voting process, Liberty said it would consider taking legal action if the National Elections Commission (NEC) did not act on its demands.

Weah.

Brumskine Sure of Victory Tomorrow

Liberty Party Standard Bearer Clllr. Charles Brumskine has concluded his campaign in style and is confidence of winning tomorrow’s presidential election. Cllr. Brumskine and his Vice Standard Bearer Harrison Kanweah have combed the entire country preaching the message of peace and national development. They said the time for Boakai was out, and stated that he should leave the political scene alone with his boss, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
